  • Water appears in a line along the base of the wall, where the wall meets the floor, rather than at one spot
  • The wall itself looks dry above the leak, so there is no crack to explain the water
  • It shows up during or after heavy rain and disappears when the ground drains, then returns with the next storm
  • Seepage can appear along more than one wall, especially the walls facing higher ground
  • You may see efflorescence, a white chalky mineral crust, drying along the joint line

You are not stopping the water, you are just moving where it comes in. The only durable answer is to give the water a path out before it reaches the joint.
